"Humanity is faced with one of the worst tragedies it has ever witnessed.
Israel is targeting and killing innocent people, including women and children, at hospitals and schools in Gaza.
This has been going on for 75 years. This is inexcusable.
For 75 years, we have been witnessing an innocent people effectively being subjected to the Nazi oppression.
Israel, which built its identity and grievances on the Nazi oppression, makes an innocent people experience that same oppression today.
How do they do it? They occupy their lands and take away their homes. They deprive [the Palestinians] of their fundamental rights –all of their rights, including their right to education, their right to healthcare, their freedom of movement and their freedom of conscience.
For 75 years, they have been targeting hospitals, bombing civilian areas and imprisoning [the Palestinians] through extralegal means.
This is truly inexcusable. Indeed, international conventions, including the Geneva conventions, identify such acts as war crimes.
We have gathered here today as women’s NGOs, under the leadership of the Initiative for Solidarity with Palestinian Women.
I would like to say a few things about that.
As you know, it is not uncommon for many groups in the West to target the Muslim world with reference to women’s rights. At the same time, we encounter a high level of hypocrisy.
For example, U.S. politicians have glorified PKK-affiliated female terrorists, who target civilians in Türkiye, as heroic freedom fighters.
Yet they turn a blind eye to the heroic Palestinian women, who have been trying to defend Al-Aqsa with their bare hands and big hearts for decades from heavily-armed Israeli soldiers.
Who have been trying to protect their homes and babies killed by Israel.
Who have been standing tall against all odds.
They do not talk about the rights of those women.
We, the women’s NGOs of Türkiye, are here today to declare that we stand with Palestine’s heroic women.
We are here to declare that we stand with their children – with the Palestinian people and Palestine.
And we urge all of humanity to speak up in the face of this tragedy.
